Poetry

I started writing as early as kindergarten--eager to write something as exciting as the chapter books I was beginning to read. I've written some fiction and short stories, but my true passion is poetry. I started keeping a little red journal with me in the 3rd grade: I wrote a lot of haikus then, but now I write mostly free verse or abstract poetry.

If You Are Still

“If You Are Still” is a testament to overcoming the heartbreak of daily human life. It begs you to understand what happens when we allow ourselves to cease feeling. It is a collection for the left behind, in between, and those who need to be reminded that breaking is one of many growth phases.

Those Pages of Childhood

I hosted my second ever poetry reading virtually during the 2020 Pandemic. Watch the video above to experience my virtual poetry reading. This collection of poems all give me a small town nostalgia that I have begun to dive deeper into as a stretch towards adulthood.

Method Acting

This work is either a poem as a play or a play as a poem. In this work I speak about my struggle in transitioning a close friendship into a long distance one. It started as a short story in the free verse form, but transitioned to a short play almost as an extended metaphor of the content itself.
